The airport in Toronto, Ontario in Canada had another name before it was retitled "Pearson Airport". Does anyone know the previous name?

The airport first opened in 1939 as Malton Airport. Actually
wikipedia.org is wrong about Toronto International Airport.
It was never known officially as Toronto International airport
but as Malton International Airport before it was switched to
Lester B. Pearson International Airport in 1984

The simple reason being that it was in the City of Malton, not the City of Toronto.

Toronto's Lester B. Pearson International Airport (LBPIA) is located 27 km (16 miles) north/west of downtown Toronto and within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) which includes the regions of Durham, York, Halton, Peel and Toronto. The airport - covering 1,792 hectares (4,430 acres) - has been Toronto's main international airport since 1939 when it was first known as Malton Airport. The Airport is easily accessible from any of the following highways: 09, 427, 400, 401, 403, 410 and the QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way).

The "Toronto International Airport" is a fiction. The only "Toronto" airport is the one on Toronto Island ... which does NOT cater to international arrivals/departures.

Oh yes ... and the Island Airport was originally opened as "Port George VI Airfield" in honour of the 1939 royal visit. It was soon ignored in favor of the City Center/Island title.
