we were recomended "Darry house" All days house, Sunny newcomer etc like best solution for first month or two. Are they in safe surrounding and decent?

Really depends on what you are looking for and how much you are willing to spend.

I personally like this site:

It basically shows apartment rentals on a weekly bases. They are sorted by province and city. The apartments are actual appartments, with washrooms, living room , bed rooms and kitchens.

I always go to this site when I travel to new cities in Canada. I try to get apartments in the big cities and close to subways if available. That way I can do my own exploring and minimize travel expenses. I don't have to worry about food costs because I can cook what i want to eat (if i want to stay cheap).

May motels offer weekly and monthly rates, with kitchen facilities. It might be best to decide what area you want to be in and then rent a motel suite while you are apartment hunting.
