I want everyone's honest opinion of Canada and Canadians. Do you like us? Hate us? Think we're just like Americans? And a question to Canadians: has anyone abroad EVER asked if you were Canadian? I always ALWAYS get asked if I'm American.

Seriously? Every province is represented by at least one city, sometimes more. Why have New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island been ignored? They are great provinces to visit!

Not to mention the territories, nothing about those three either.

I'm probably just opening the door to stupid insults from people who have nothing else to do, but I thought it might be worth finding out if others have noticed and think it's unfair to those provinces.

Should I change to Euros here in Canada or bring Canadian money and exchange when I get there? Also, one of my destinations will include Poland, which does not use the Euro.

I plan on going to Canada next month just to explore. I'm not sure what I need to enter into Canada. Do I need a passport? Or can I just use my birth certificate?

We are looking for a nice cottage to rent in Ontario. We are thinking of up north area, mabye Parry Sound, Algonquin, we aren't picky. Price does NOT matter but we want privacy and still close to a town for shopping. Anyone know of a nice cottage???

My fiance and I are driving through Canada a month after we are married for our honeymoon. We are going from mid-Michigan to the Boston area, and driving through Canada will save us a few hours each way. Neither of us have ever been to Canada and I am getting my name changed when we get married. I don't know if it will be officially changed in time for me to get my passport with my married name, but my name on my license should be changed by that time.

Also, we are going to faires that allow peace-tied swords and we want to bring those in the trunk.

Lastly, I work at Starbucks and get free coffee and I'm taking several pounds to my friends. I always get checked at the airport when I bring large quantities of coffee (no problem) but will it be a problem on the border? Hopefully they have the same equipment.

This trip is in mid-October and our wedding/date I file for my name change is September 3rd.

I bought 1 peck of apples from a local orchard in NH. So long as they are clean and free of parasites, will I be able to bring them across the border?

I came across this website - www.notcanada.com - which states that many immigrants come to Canada and are disappointed since they cannot work in thier chosen profession primarily due to lack of Canadian experience and qualifications. Many also say they have been cheated to believe that many white collar jobs exist and end up driving taxis and sweeping floors. I was considering moving to Canada, but so many people have come back from there and all cannot find their chosen jobs despite being born and educated in Canada with degree level qualifications. Is this really the reality of the situation? Some have even said the taxes in Canada are insane and even with a relatively decent job, it is impossible to save money, is this all true? It is quite a stark contrast to the USA where money literally grows on trees and there are excellent jobs for everyone, and now I'm seriously thinking it wouldn't be worthwhile going to Canada, and perhaps I should try going straight to the USA.
