I land at JFK at 4 and would love to grab a cheap and direct flight at 5.30 in a different terminal. As I will be in transit from Tel Aviv to Toronto but flying different airlines, do I need to go through customs at JFK or can I just grab my bag and run?

Im going to the US to shop but I don't have a birth certificate. I am 13 years old. I do have my health card, General Hospital card, my baby health number, and a Notice of birth registration (which clearly says on the back that this is not a birth certificate). Will this be enough to get across. The Birth Registration says "it may be used as proof of age or school purposes".. also would i be able to photo copy these documents or would i need the actual documents?

Australians speak similar to british people but canadians speak more like americans.

My father still resists on saying that most of the original canadians speak english with british accent, and I say that most of the original canadians speak english with american accent. However, I know that canadians speak english in canadian accent, but how can I prove it to my father that original canadians speak english with more of american accent?

Is that something new? I mean did previous "original canadians" (and not british people who came there) talk english in british or even similar to british accent?

I also know that it differs from state to state there in Canada, I am talking about the majority of original canadians, and I am not talking about the french canadians, I also know that canadians spell british, but I am talking about the "accent" and the way they talk.

If you can provide a good source(preferably a good website) from the internet it would also be much better.

I am talking abpout the majority.
I guess there is something called a canadian accent too.

However I want to know that what percent of canadians (not immigrants) talk with british accent and what percent of them talk with american accent approximately.

I'm thinking of taking a vacation to Canada next year. Ideal spot would be a Bed and Breakfast in the western part of the country (Alberta maybe). We love the outdoors, mountains, and wildlife. Any suggestions?

What I can not find out is how to get me and the van from the East of Canada to Iceland. If there is anyone who can help me with this problem that would be great. Thanks, Shaun.S

Hello, I'm planning on moving to Toronto in the summer to visit. I plan on renting an apartment for 3 months and simply enjoying the Canadian lifestyle. I understand that it will cost a lot of money in order for me to do this, so I really wanted to get a job there. I'm 18 years old and am a U.S. citizen. How would I go about getting a job in Canada? It's really essential for me to make money while I'm there so any guidence is very much appreciated. Can I simply walk into a small business, like a Starbucks or McDonald's and ask for a job, or is that not permitted? Please, any advice will help.
Thank you,
Jesse

How come in canada they call their money the dollar? Copying the US?
Countries have so many names. Pound, franc, euro, yen.....
Why did they choose to copy the US dollar?
They were closer to the UK. They could have copied the pound?

In 3 weeks I am going to Canada for a month. Staying with friends over Christmas.

I want to take $1000 with me (do you think this is enough?) which in today's money is £516.

When is the best time to buy? Is this a good rate or could it get better over the coming 2 weeks?

good thing that happened in canada. can you imagine if a canadian got tasered in china or something? whoo, another splash of racism, many chinese-canadians will surely get beaten up around the country. but since a polish (white guy) got tasered in canada, it's just another regular story.
