Canadian Passports are mailed through Canadapost via Xpresspost with Signature required. So wait by the door around 2-4 days after they send it.

In Montreal, I went to the passport office and submitted mine October 3rd. I was told that I would get the passport sometime around October 24th. It actually arrived by Expresspost on October 30th.

If you mailed in the information, pictures, and birth certificate instead of taking it to the office, it may take longer. Also, you did not mention whether you indicated that you need priority processing on it.

If you clicked that box on the form, they will try to get you the passport prior to the "required by" date that you indicated. Mine was listed as being required by March 2008, which was when my next international trip was planned.

They are saying from the time they get it to the time they mail it again, is currently about 6 weeks. I renewed mine at the beginning of the year and it took over twice that time. So if you are thinking of doing it, don't delay. The next jam of applications could be just around the corner.

My daughter sent away for hers in April, and it took 10 weeks. Hopefully the times are a little shorter now
