I'm about to start applying for work in Montréal, but I'm wondering whether it is better to hand out résumés in French or English? The résumé I usually use is in English, and clearly states that I am proficient in French as well, but I'm worried that an English résumé might turn some employers off right away. Any thoughts?

Ok let me see if i can word this out... im going to spend around 6 months in canada living with my boyfriend and i want to get a temporary job up there... i've been reading up on it and I see that I'm going to need a work visa, but will i need a temporary resident visa too? because on the cic website it says under a temporary resident visa im not allowed to work, however I also cant get a work visa until i have a job offer and to get a job offer I assume i'll need to do some interviews while in canada, but isnt this going to somehow cause a problem with customs since i wont be giving an exact return date? Do i just tell them I'm going to be looking for temporary work? how does this all work??

I'm a US citizen headed to Canada (Montreal) on Wednesday, hopefully, do not have my passport or actual birth certificate with me. I am getting the birth certificate faxed, and have a copy of my passport, but I don't know if either will be helpful. Other documentation I have includes my drivers license, social security card, college id, bank card, high school transcript ect. Anyone know if I'll be able to manage? And if not what constitues a certified copy of my birth certificate, and is there any way to get it across the country in a day?

I am taking a road trip from Philly to Montreal in November with some old college friends. We are all in our mid to late 20's so we are more concerned with nightlife and being near the bars, etc. Does anyone know a good affordable hotel in downtown Montreal. We are looking to pack the 4 of us in one room and don't care about how nice it is, just affordable and LOCATION is important. Also, since we are driving.....off street parking or a hotel with a parking garage would be great! Any help would be appreciated.......Thanks.

We're heading there tomorrow, and are booked for 2 nights at the Taj Mahal hotel (which looks pretty good at $80 per night), but it doesn't have a pool and we'd like a swim a LITTLE bit while we're there.

Hey! I'm looking for ideas on: a hotel, a steak house, a casino, night clubs, gentlemen's clubs, and any extreme sports suggestions you might have. (For example, in Vegas I did simulated skydiving once, and it was awesome.) Thanks a lot!

I am travelling with children from Newfoundland,Canada to Florida, the United States. Can you tell me the procedure for going through customs at Montreal airport?Do We have to change terminals or do we leave from the same terminal? After we go through customs ,do we have to take our luggage and recheck it in or is it done for us?When we get off the plane in Montreal,do we go to regular baggage pickup,or is there a different baggage pickup for customs?I need to know the answers to my questions because we only have an hour to change planes,so I don't have time to make mistakes. Thanks.
