Hi - heading down to Auckland, NZ and looking for the hottest places after dark. Preferably bars/clubs with a wild crowd, hot clientele, and good atmosphere.

My husband are already legally married (stationed overseas)but are going to have a ceremonial (beach) wedding in Australia. Either in Cairns or Sydney, It will be in September 08, small either just me and him our members from our immediate families they said they would save and try to come.

Iam having a hard time trying to find a good place to stay. Iam looking for a nice hotel for the wedding night...say 4 star. What are the "star ratings" compared to U.S "star ratings". Where Iam a "5 star hotel" is like a (1 star hotel in the states).
I would like to be in an area that is close to everything so we dont have to spend alot of time getting to where we want to go...like cairns is close to Portland, and Kanadurra (I'm sure I spelled that wrong). But is there alot to do in that area...what do you recommend. Is there a tourist hotline so to speak that we can call and talk with a travel agent or someone who can help us figure out what we want to do. The inet is kinda scary

I'm planning on ultimately settling down in Oz, and I have the little certificate of citizenship with me, but when I start to do the application process it requires me to list "references" (I forget the term) who have known me at least 2 years and are Australian citizens and NOT family.

I've lived in the States half my life (England the other half) and I don't know any Australian citizens that are not family members. Is this even valid? Can I seriously not get my Aussie passport even though I'm a full-fledged Australian citizen just because I live outside Oz?

Can anyone with a similar experience/knowledge on the subject shed some light?

I have visited and have decided that i want to move there permanantly from the UK, I was going to train as a teacher by doing a PGCE as I am led to believe that the points are high on this skill. Has anyone got any advice is this the correct route to get me into the country?

Ok I am an 18 male Australian I am having trouble of deciding what I should do for a job now.

I should of probably went on a working holiday at a canadian ski resort but was too dumb to take up the chance this year, I guess I could go for summer and work at a resort and go to a job fair in winter. I should of even got a job in Australia at a ski resort but missed that too. Got to apply april for that

So ideas I am thinking now are whitsunday islands area (in QLD,AUS), apply to some resorts there, try a different program overseas through IEP, OWH or STA travel.

I just want to work as something I really enjoy and have the chance to meet new people. Things like ski lifty, ski instructor... but I can't think of summer jobs or other jobs so help me out please.

I'd like to know as I am considering Oz to migrate to in the future. I've been to NSW Canberra Melbourne and South Oz but find the weather very dry. I live in a tropical country so I had to use a lot of moisturizer on my skin when I was there. Thanks!

Fathers who suddenly turn up and want contact with their kids demanding heaps of rights...If they take you to court, what will happen, if they:
- tried to force abortion on you, and when that didn't work ran off
- had 7 visits to see the child lasting between 10 minutes and an hour in two and a half years
- did not talk to the child during those visits, play with him, or hold/hug him, but instead talked to you about non-child related things.
What sort of rights will the court give him?

Have lived on the Gold Coast for 7 months now and was wondering where in Australia we should visit as a possible place to settle down. We like the Gold Coast for the weather, surfing and beaches. We wonder if we can get those things somewhere else in Australia with other advantages thrown in?
