I've read that it's no longer possible to get the working holiday visa in person at high commission in London but does anyone know if it is possible to get it over the counter at the consulate in Manchester?
Or, is it not the worth the hassle? Does anyone know how long it's taking to process visa applications by post at the moment?

Me and a friend of mine are planning to visit Australia next year in July. My friend has a US drivers license and i have a Qatari Drivers license (left hand drive again). Would it be possible for us to rent a car from Adelaide ? Or do we have to give some test to convert to Australian ?

I am going travelling to Australia in June (From UK) I will be going alone (Might have someone to come with but not guaranteed). I have spoken to people who have done this and they said they were glad they went alone best time of their lives etc, this gave me the boost I needed. The problem is now I keep hearing all these bad reports about the Australian people saying they are abrupt and can be very nasty if you don't know things etc

I have also read this on answers, this is really putting me off I want to try and work while I travel in bars or whatever I can get but if people are just going to be rude and abrupt is it worth it

I know you will meet people like it but coming from a nation that is polite and accommodating plus I am very mild manured I'm a little worried!!

Can you please reassure me that the reports I'm hearing are wrong (I do think it strange that the most laid back county on Earth can have people saying this about them!!)

I wanted to know if I could get a tourist visa for maybe 6 months or a year just to go to Australia, and while I'm there on the tourist visa, request a sponsored work visa... Because I don't want to wait 3-5 months to go to Australia, but I know the guy sponsoring me very well, been friends over a year... We have been in Austalia for 1 year we only came for a career break but at the moment we are working and have been for the last 6 months. We have booked our flight to return to scotland for 6 months on holiday with some traveling on the way. I have been feeling really home sick and lonely as my husband is working shifts and v long hours and I feel like i just want to go to Scotland and stay and be with my famiy and friends. We want to start a family soon but i dont really want to because we are so unsettled? HELP what should we do!!!!
