Is January a good time to visit Valley of Fire, weather wise?

I don't think Australia has a Valley of Fire but we do have a burning mountain. It's in the upper Hunter Valley in NSW about 20km north of Scone. January can be hot but there are good walks round there. Wear a hat and use sunscreen.

This question was included in the Australia - General section. The only Valley of Fire that I could locate was in the USA - near Las Vegas.
