If I wanted to drive from the UK to australia roughly how long would it take, how much would it cost? Do you think a car would take it without major repairs?

Would there be issues with gaining entry intocertain countries e.g. visas etc?

Any other issues you can think of?

Please give specific details and backup your answers where possible?

thanks

I'm actually from Canada but early next they are releasing Charmed season 8 on DVD and I would like to order it from a website that can do Austrailan orders because I would like to get it soon as possible before it comes to North America. So is there a Amazon website for Australia or a Australian website that does orders for overseas?

My fiance is currently living in Denver, Colorado and wants to come over to australia on a work sponsered visa. Does anyone have any ideas of companies that do that within australia? He has a degree in psychiatry and also has worked in the food industry.

I have an opportunity to take a job in New Zealand and my husband, a retired police SRT (aka SWAT or Special Ops) officer, is worried about New Zealand's gun laws (we would be coming from the US).

Can anyone give me a useful summary of the laws? My internet research has not been effective because I can only find small pieces of information, and what I've found seems to boil down to:
1. No pistols of any sort.
2. Shotguns are OK, so are some rifles but AK-type rifles or what they call "assault" configuaration in the US is illegal in New Zealand.
3. You must be licensed and registered to own weapons.
4. You may only shoot them at designated "shooting clubs".
5. For new residents there is a waiting period before they are allowed to own any weapon.

Can anyone help me out, or point me to a website where the gun laws are concisely written? Serious responses only please, and thanks for your help.
