I live here and it is a brilliant place. Queensland is beautiful and sunny, very laid back and relaxing.
Sydney is a very vibrant city with alot of beautiful places (Sydney Harbour) and alot of great restaurants, shopping, bars/ clubs, beaches.
Melbourne is a shopping mecca, wonderful cafe culture etc.
I believe I live in the best country in the world!

Australia is an awesome place to visit, but don't just limit yourself to the major cities. Take some time out to understand some of the strange and wonderful places that make Australia a great place to go. Visit the opal mines a Cooper Peedy (and be shocked when the locals tell you that they have detonated explosives since the age of 6). See the snowy mountains and marvel at the Snowy Mountain Hydro-Electric Scheme - built with the help of thousands of migrants who now call Australia home. See the beautiful daintree national park and the fauna and flora that live there that can be found no where else. Visit Ballarat or Castlemain and discover our rich goldmining history.

yes Australia is a good place to visit. I live in Australia in the state of Queensland. I think Queensland state has a lot of nice things like Steve Irwin Zoo, Great Barrier Reef, Frazer Island, Bundy Rum Sunshine coat and Gold coast.

I agree I have been to all the places above and they are great - but don't forget the Northern Territory and northern part of Western Australia - the great places to see up here are Kakadu national park, Litchfield, Katherine Gorge(Nitmaluk national park) and the Bungle Bungle Range (Purnululu National Park) - probably best to come in our Winter (June/ July) as tourists find it too hot and many roads get cut with flood waters in the Summer.

Kangaroo Island and the Great Ocean Road. Uluru is a bit over rated but the best shopping is in the center and the Olgas were nice.

Australia is my home and my back yard.
I have travelled the world, but nothing compares to it.
I have lots of favourite places, but I like to find new ones each day.
Anything that gets me into nature is what I like doing.

willow has summed it up for me!
the other day i was sitting in the sun at my local pub (i'm in melbourne) and i met 2 lots of people from the UK who had emigrated here and said it was the best choice they had ever made! one guy said he loves our lifestyle, another couldn't wait to leave his own country. if you travel here you will need a substantial amount of time, this country ain;t as small as it looks on the map! one time i saw these americans getting on a bus from melbourne to sydney with just their day bags, not realising it's an all day trip like 12 -14 hours away, not a day trip! how funny

I was born and grew up in Australia. It can be a nice place to visit, but some Australians can be very narrow-minded, racist and sexist. It depends on where you go. Also, in the city they can be snottish as well.
