I've never been on a plane so I'd appreciate any tips anyone can give me about flying. Also can anyone give me tips on the best type of clothing to take, things that are hard to find in the Philippines that I should take with me, or any other things I should know?

Is it better to answer questions like, "Should I shave my scrotum?" or “Where should I stay in Tarlak?”, for 2 points, or make a real and lasting contribution to one of the best know sources of information? Heck if I know. I do know there are no well known Tagalog dictionaries and that speakers of English are all to willing to hand you the Webster’s.

What I am saying is: This section seems to receive a lot of people who are put down, and thumbs-down are very popular in this section.

Quite often people post questions here about why everyone hates them, and then suddenly all of the answers turn kind, and people say "Please stay" and "I always like your questions/answers".

Why is that?

Filipinos are taught English in school from kindergarten to college. Some were taught English as their first language. We are bombarded by tv shows, magazines, newspapers, radio shows ALL in Englsish. But why is it that a lot of Filipinos who can't speak American English? Well, just today, I talked to somebody who said: "I goh toh Jaleebeh ebree feydey." (I go to Jollibee every payday). English skills are very important in a lot of jobs, even some nannies are required to be able to speak it conversationally. Oh, I hate that "colegiala English", when they would say "let's go na to the mall, i want to buy a skirt eh." GRRRR. The main focus of our schools (public and private) is to teach students well.

Don't get me wrong, I am not a perfect speaker of the language but I am just apalled at how we can be taught something for so long and still not get it right!

Please explain!

We have looked at a couple--QC Sports Club had facilities that were too dated and Celebrity Sports Club seemed a little pricey (according to their site, 30 mo is 395,000 plus monthly). Are there any others? We are looking for gym equipment, badminton courts, and classes (pilates) especially.

in a country where you absolutely don't know anyone, but know the language used? You have enough funds to get to that place, but once you are there, you would immediately have to look for work. I'm interested to know as I am about to take the biggest risk of doing just that and hopefully a net will appear as I take that leap. In addition, I have no more family here (no more parents & am an only child) basically, I'm out on my own, have my friends but they also have their own families already (we rarely see each other). There's really nothing much more here for me, that's why I'm free to move around. I've just turned 30 and I just believe that a person can only prepare so much and then you'd just have to jump in even if you don't know what's out there. Last yr I tried to travel on my own also to places where I didn't know anyone. Thank God I survived! I've studied the country where I want to go to next. I'm heading to Europe definitely where the grass is much greener.

that under the DIning Out Category, you'll find another section for the Philippines

The first time I visited that part of Yahoo Answers eight months ago, there wasn't any question to answer. I was also surprised to see that there are subcategories like Baguio, Manila, etc...

Just wondering...
