funny, i was watching Dyesebel the other day!
has anyone actually seen and touched a mermaid? and if they were real, they would be slowly on their way to extinction thanks to the water pollution contributed by us land people.

The presence of mermaids has never been proven.
It may be inspired by the sight of sea manatees ("dugong" in Filipino) sunning themselves on the rocks as viewed by lonely sailors. The name dugong was derived from the Malay term meaning lady of the sea (mermaid).

Well, I do believe that there are mysteries unknown out there. It's just up to us if we're going to believe it or not. But there's one professor in Ateneo de Manila who strongly believes in mythological creatures. He had written a book about those sorts too.
