For those who saw my answer earlier about those gimmicks, I decided to delete it. Gimmicks like those are done by many Y!A fans even if their not Filipino. Anyway, new answer.
You see, Filipinos are fund of laughing even after a calamity. Before I tell you how this is related to the thumbs-downers, let me give you an example:
A tropical storm occurred. The next day, it was gone. During that next day, a man was wailing. "Oh God! My roof! It's gone!". Suddenly, a man stepped up to cheer him up. "Don't cry man, at least you still have your house. Look at my house. It's obliterated! The storm didn't even spare me a piece of brick!". Another man stepped forward "I bet you cant beat me you guys!". "What do you mean?" The man whom the storm didn't spare a brick asked. "I cant still see your appliances dude. Look at my house. I don't even have a roof, a brick, nor appliances!". The story would end with men continuing to step forward and bickering until all of them would laugh out loud. But what the men didn't know is that they were hurting or embarrassing their families.
Now let's look at this this way. Think of the man who lost the roof as the asker, and the men as the answerers, and the family members as the thumbs-downers. See the relation? That's right! Sometimes, this peoples answers may sound sensible but it maybe pissing of or somewhat confusing the other viewers. Rather than to contradict with their minds, they put a thumbs down.
Or maybe, this thumbs downers are pissed of because they sometimes include Filipino words which they cannot understand. It's a violation in the community guidelines to not write English.

I did notice that high incidence of "thumbs-down", and in most cases, those were uncalled for. If you don't like a particular answer, you shouldn't give it a bad rating. Let's all remember everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. Thumbs-down should be used only if the answer is extremely rude, abusive in tone and language or totally way out of context that its only purpose is to offend the asker and the other answerers.
Let's stick to having fun, guys......we are, after all, fun-loving people. Let's show the world we can have our fun and still keep it fair and clean.
MABUHAY!

because this is Yahoo Answers PHILIPPINES. Where Filipinos abound. It is the race that under 3 centuries of Spanish rule somehow picked up the impatience and explosive emotionalism you see in most Spanish speaking race. Under 30 years of American rule, it somehow picked up the frankness and rational irrationalism with world-leader delusions. But overall, it still remains to be intrinsically Asian, non-confrontational unless provoked and obsessed with living in harmony with the people around. The result: a complex breed of character which you may choose to love or hate.
P.S. Mix this racial complexity with the inherent complexity of a woman and constantly be amazed at what a Filipina can do.

So what extra am i able to assert yet purely interior the Philippines, astonishing?

Its probably better because this encourages people to answer more seriously adn rationally. Yup, I agree with the emotional part. Its probably because everybody feels like a community that is closely-knit. Its just fun..

LOL!
This is simply the Philippines. We are likely to appreciate people more if they concede and say goodbye...
When people die in the Philippines, they turn out to be so kind. We'd say "ba't siya namatay? Ang bait-bait pa naman niya" even if they were mean when they were still living.

Filipinos are very. Sensitive, quick to give judgement yet cannot take/accept criticism.
