I'm Filipino, but I was born and raised in the States (California to be exact), and my parents never really got around to teach me much Tagalog. Well my mom told me to send this song to my girlfriend, it's by a Filipino singer called Florante and the song is called "Pinay", and she said it'd make my girlfriend happy. I just want to know what the lyrics translate to in English, before I send it to my girlfriend (who does understand Tagalog)

Here's a site with the lyrics:

I have decided to do a news feature on the art community in cubao. I want to be able to tie it up with the concept of economic progress in Cubao. Why is Cubao considered to be a hip place now?

...I don't think I can trust anyone anymore especially the Police and other Government trustees... It seems they're all corrupt.

...I don't feel safe anymore though am born and raised in Manila but the last time I've been there all I have is fear in any kind of transpo such as jeepney, bus, taxis or even on your own vehicle and even when just walking alone or with friends... sorry but seems there's just too many snatchers, holduppers, etc... I've heard so many scary stories and I've had some of experiences.

... I don't mean to hurt or offend anyone but this is how I feel. But I still love going back in Philippines as that is my home. DO YOU STILL FEEL SAFE?

well my Lola is from Batangas, and I am lucky that I am 1/4 Flip so she said that the Batanguenos are brave coz they are always the pain in the butt for the invading nation, constantly opposing them when everyone else loses hope, but some people say that its only because of the coffee since the brewed coffee originated from Batangas and the Batanguenos are used to it makes them "matapang"(the word "matapang" is an adjective for brave or unsweetened coffee that has an overpowering taste) so is the Batanguenos brave or what???

Are fake Diplomas, certificates etc. obtainable for a fee in the Philippines. If, as I think, they are, then maybe this is what the show is having a go at. And , if this is so, shouldn't all this indignation be aimed at rectifying this situation.

Hey, I might as well jump on the band wagon.
Let's say you are in charge of assembling a cast for an ABSCBN version of Desparate Housewives, who'd you pick?
Who'd you choose for the different roles? Remember, they have to be between 45-50 years old.

The only difference I think would be if the doctor to check them was American, they'd pay more for the diagnosis...
Why? Beacause he's KANO!!!!

Don't shoot Bopols... this has nothing to do with that "racial-slur" issue.
