The closest I can think of would be riding the boats in Pagsanjan. Though the gondola ride is an easy ride, the Pagsanjan boat rides would be much more exciting.
In both cases, they are manned by boatmen.

What I shall quote is true only after adequate storms:
When the Pasig River overfloats, try boat rides in Pandacan, Manila. Of course, haven't been there in ages. If the floods don't come there, try Navotas or Malabon.

The Jeepney is the most recognised form of Filipino transport, more or less a National Symbol in my estimation.
If you haven't ridden a jeepney; then you've never been to the Philippines.
