So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night
I hate to go and leave this pretty sight
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, adieu
Adieu, adieu, to yieu and yieu and yieu

vandalski: nena hates goodbyes
arefski: nena doesn't know your song...picked adieu song from the sound of music instead

Farewell is not being used too much nowadays. I prefer it over Goodbye though. Goodbye sounds so final.

I rather choose FAREWELL, at least it's only take us years before we see each other again meaning we don't put period on it. Goodbye is a saddest word means we ended everything we share.
