I think they are such a nuisance, an eyesore/earsore, and they aggravate the pollution problem in the city. They are a cultural baggage that weighs down progress; they belong in a museum. It's high time to get rid of them. Yes?

I say the way people drive. Enforce very strict traffic laws. People reveal their true 'barumbado-ness' by showing total disregard for something as simple as traffic laws. This would mean driving within lanes and not on them. A two-way street would mean just that. Etc.

Once this is straightened out, everything else will fall harmoniously into place. Yes?

People at all levels of society are slain regularly for insignificant political or monetary gain all the time. There is little concern for the welfare of the poor, even hapless children, who are dying from starvation and disease literally on the streets. What gives? I would prefer honest answers and no retorts based on denial and false pride please. I know better.

I got a last minute air ticket to Philippines - arrive Fri 22 dec at Clark, depart fri 29 from Clark. Any suggestions for where to go and stay? I'd like a couple of days in Manilla, maybe visit Taal for one day, but I'd love to go to Boracay or another island where I can snorkel or dive for a few days. Is it possible in the time on a limited budget? Any other nice beaches for snorkelling nearer Manilla? If I go to Boracay is it better to fly or go by ferry? Can I book tickets at the airport when I arrive? Any good budget hotels you'd recommend?
