It is the land that I love...mainly because the people I love live there! People may say all they want about it, but it will always be a place of beauty for me. I may work far away, but my heart and mind are always there...with relatives and friends, and the places I have been. My valued memories are always those of the Philippines...

The minute u set a foot in that Taxi Cab and your new journey will begin. People, Cluture, History and the Islands (close to 783 islands) what makes the Pearl of the Pacific. I am sure you will be driving by some poor and smoggy areas as your leave the airport heading to your lush and comfortable hotel or condo room. Although the Philippines have more than its share of poverty, soon you will find out that the people of the Philippines what make that country so hospitable with all what is has to offer. I am sure a filipino would share his/her last piece of bread with you with a smile on there face. Treat people with dignity and respect and you will be treated the same way. Remember, people will tell you to stay and be safe since, i had no problem ihn my last three visits, I walked at night, I patronized the baywalk almost everynight and have never felt any safe. I think my chances of getting shot or robbed in the US are more hight than in the Phil.
Also, clothing are cheap, so dont overpack and if u do, be sure to take comfortable clothing since its pertty humid in there. Shopping in the huge malls is a thrill, with everything u can think of is right before your eyes. Showmart, Mega Mall, Mall of Asia, Robinso Gallery,Glorietta and the upscale Shangar Li Mall...Greenhills Mall for your electronics gadget and lates in cell phones which normaly arrives a year later to the USA. For the fun of it go to Divisdoria Mall, that is very popular outdoor shopping mall at the end of Recto Station if you art taking METRO RAIL LR2.
Almost at any Hotel the Front Desk or Guest Services would be more than delighted to give you any information you like about anywhere you want to go to and explore.
So go ahead and explore the Islands and have one of the best trips ever...also, if you are exchanging currency , I found out that the exchange booths inside Glorietta and Megamalls have the best rate...Hotel and banks rate is expensive.
Good luck!!

The Philippines officially the Republic of the Philippines is an island nation located in the Malay Archipelago in Southeast Asia, with Manila as its capital. It comprises 7,107 islands called the Philippine Archipelago, with a total land area of approximately 300,000 square kilometers or 116,000 square miles, making it the 72nd largest country by area.

Modern day Filipinos are mostly of Austronesian stock, although there are a number of Filipinos with Spanish, Chinese, American, and Arab ancestry.

The country was named "Las Islas Filipinas" (The Philippine Islands) by Ruy López de Villalobos after King Philip II of Spain. Spanish colonial rule began in 1565 and lasted for about three centuries until the Philippine Revolution of 1896. The United States gained possession of the Philippines after the Spanish-American War in 1898 and the Philippine-American War in 1899. The U.S. ruled the country for about five decades. Philippine culture has many affinities with the West. Roman Catholicism is the predominant religion, and Filipino and English are the official languages

Been there many times, and have enjoyed it very much. Planning on retiring there when that day comes. The Philippines is more then just pretty girls. Its a place where the poor would give you the shirt off your back to help you if you were in trouble. Its a place where a teacher can write on your child's report card "God bless you" and not be fired. Its a place with a beautiful countryside and rich history. Do bad things happen there? Sure they do. But do bad things happen in the U.S. and Europe? You better believe they do.

This is where I live but I've been to other cities around the world as well. What's nice is that the warmth of the people is something that you just dont find elsewhere in the world. Its a pity that the media pictures this country as if its war-torn, decrepit, and totally behind compared with other countries. Its not only our country that has to deal with corruption, other countries have their share of corruption too. I don't even have to mention the countless stories of people getting mugged in New York or of the pickpockets in Rome. If the system here is a bit off as of now, then others will just have to deal with it. Hey, back in China and some places in Hong Kong even, they still use the old type ground level-flat type toilet for pee-ing and/or poo-ing where you have to do your thing in a squat position. Its either you use it or hold it till you drop. I don't hear anybody complaining. So why so hard on the Philippines?

Well, I like the beach in palawan specially El Nido or something. I grow up there but we move to bigger city. Like Cebu and ****** and it's a garbage place, except if you go to the tourist places like: Boracay, chocolate hills etc. or Robinson, Ayala or some shopping mall. Then you'll see the floor shines like, i almost could see the reflect of my underwear color. And they good for shopping cheaper than Europe.
I'm from there but to be honest i like Europe better, air is fresher.
