I remember "Sannie se sewe sakke sout" getting me interested in studying Afrikaans, while the "Click Song'' got me interested in studying African languages. Mandoza's "Nkalakatha" made me become aware of the urban African lifestyle. "Hie kommie bokke" made me feel patriotic. I can go on forever. What South African music made YOU wanna dance?

The essence of the word unity is "to be in harmony" or "to be as one" and we, as South Africans, strive to be just that according to our constitution. But is it really possible to be united when we have a national anthem sung in so many different languages and 11 official languages? I'm a language practitioner and this is a very serious issue for me. Because even though I anticipate the true unity of South Africans, I dread the fact that I will lose my identity by accepting it. What are your thoughts on this language issue?

We are considering booking a tour, but don't know much about the company. They offered us a good deal if we pay now months in advance of our tour. I have only read about them from their site and other tour agency sites. Any firsthand knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

I am booking a 3 day safari. We are staying in luxury camping (tents with beds). We have a driver/guide for everything. I just want to know if this is a good site to book through, if anyone has had any problems with them in the past.

Hi. If you look about 2 questions down you see mine concerning my speech about the 7 wonders of SA. I would like to rank them, and I kind of need your help because I haven't visited all of them.
The 7 wonders are: Table Mountain, God's Window, Kruger National Park, Augrabies Waterfalls, Cango Caves, Wilderness and Namaqualand.
Can you please give a mark out of 10 for each of the 7 wonders that you have seen. I would appreciate it VERY greatly.

Good day. I am doing a speech on why to tour South Africa. My basic outline is I tell them about my seven wonders of south africa, seven destinations that are a "must-see for you and me". I already have 6: Table Mountain, The Kruger National Park, The Augrabies waterfalls, the Cango Caves, Wilderniss, and Namaqualand. Can anyone please help me to choose a seventh one.

All help will be appreciated.

By reputable I mean safe (ie they autoclave/sterilize their equipment), and have artists who can actually draw/ know what they're doing. Affordability is also important. So, if you've gotten a tattoo in Jo'berg, and were happy with it and the place you went, please let me know! Thanks.

I'M GOING TO SAY IT HERE AGAIN, PLEASE DO NOT REPOND IF ALL YOU'RE GOING TO TELL ME IS HOW DANGEROUS SOUTH AFRICA IS. OTHERWISE I WILL REPORT YOU FOR ABUSE. THANK YOU.

Last night on newsnight they did a piece with John Simpson the well known reporter that use to live in South Africa.
The official figures given are 50 murders a day and 250 seriously injured by violent crime. Most S.Africans call their President an idiot for not admitting to the violence. (there are several petitions going around at present, stating just that.) Yet when you bring this up, you will find the majority will stand by him and say that there is violence everywhere. Well I do not have burglar bars and there has never been a murder in Portchester UK where I live. I have never even met someone that knows someone that has been murdered. There are now over 1 million S Africans living here.
I have not met a lot of them but those that I have blame violence (to a man) for being here.

I just got my permanent residence permit for South Africa (my husband is south african) and are now allowed to work.

I have a MSc in biology/zoology and would appreciate any input on which companies in Cape Town would employ people with my qualification. I have scanned the papers the last six months, but I rarely see jobs to which I can apply. I have looked at websites that lists jobs, but again I find it difficult to find jobs. I read all the time that South Africa needs scientists - but it seems to be mostly engineers.

I would prefer a job where I could use my specific degree (for instance in the Cape Nature Conservation which I attend to apply to), but would also be interested in any job where I can use my more general skills, such as litterature research and writing and administration jobs.

I am not being lazy, I just feel a bit lost since I have not lived in South Africa very long. I will really appreciate any input.
