You have the West coast as your ally Mercaydees - meaning: sun setting over the ocean. I know, I know, it's an old one, but it remains a winner. Stop for some fish and chips and a bottle of white wine on the way to have on the beach. I suggest Blouberg or Melkbos. Remember the glasses and jerseys. Then go for a nice movie (after washing the sand from your feet!). Most guys like experiences with not too much frills. You need to stay the main ingredient of the evening for him.
And make sure that this Valantines is your treat, so that he didn't also make arrangements.

Cape Town: sunset & wine & picnic on signal hill.
Blouberg: sunset & wine
Jhb area: drive out to the Hartebeesport area & sunset & wine & picnic anywhere near the mountains.
Failing all this, stay home, dress to seduce & give him a night to remember!!
