I just got my permanent residence permit for South Africa (my husband is south african) and are now allowed to work.

I have a MSc in biology/zoology and would appreciate any input on which companies in Cape Town would employ people with my qualification. I have scanned the papers the last six months, but I rarely see jobs to which I can apply. I have looked at websites that lists jobs, but again I find it difficult to find jobs. I read all the time that South Africa needs scientists - but it seems to be mostly engineers.

I would prefer a job where I could use my specific degree (for instance in the Cape Nature Conservation which I attend to apply to), but would also be interested in any job where I can use my more general skills, such as litterature research and writing and administration jobs.

I am not being lazy, I just feel a bit lost since I have not lived in South Africa very long. I will really appreciate any input.

I feel for you. I also have an MSc in zoology and after a year of applying for jobs in SA ( was every time told I'm too white) I left my country and are now teaching English in Taiwan

I keep having to pass on these questions on SA because the askers do not realize that it depends what your color is the answer depends on what your color is so don't forget to say what your color is If you are white you will not find any state in South Africa to employ you as a Zoologist
