They are so obsesed with her that no one could dare to say that other player is pretty or good i.e Hantuchova & Ivanovic. Are these fans so narrow minded, live in their own world, or their obsesion with Maria blinds them to see other players ?

I remember what happened to Monica Selles when she was stabbed by an obsesed fan. I went once to see Maria's match & i was shocked to see how many fans are obsesed with her(men & women) & willing to jump the fence ,if they could . Shouldn't she & her father worry & take precaution so what happened to Monica never to happen again ?

I saw the replay against Haas when he claimed his foot was injured. He wanted time off to regroup ,rethink his game & make Haas go easy on him.
Why didn't he try another trick against Djokovic ?
I'm glad he got his ******. I wish Haas had done it !

I would like to know the level of detail some of you have when scouting an opponent. When you watched your future opponent play, what specifically did you take notes on. Or, If you are a coach, what would you tell your player on how to beat this opponent your watching...what would you tell them to prepare for their match. If you have a NTRP rating, please include that in your answer, so I can correlate your answer with your level of play. Example-- 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, Open Class-- I appreciate all of your answers.

It's no secret that many great singles tennis champions dont do too well when they play in the doubles.Even Federer.I was surprised to learn recently that he plays in the doubles and even in the current Indian Wells.Yet I never hear of him winning any trophies in the doubles competition.Same goes for Pete,Andre Agassi etc.Why is that so?

It looks like players on the pro tour carry over their points from the previous year. Is that correct? If so, it is a biased system because it favors those who are already highly rated. Or do the carryover points "go away" at some point during the season? Just wondering.

I play with a liquid metal instinct, and my strings are perfect control i think made by head. Well I have not broken my strings yet for over a year. I dont know if my strings are too loose. Well in some instances, when i hit the ball on the outside strings they move and the stings look messy, is that a sign of loose strings? Should I just cut my strings and get new ones?

I know that a good understanding of what should be the next logical shot is probably the most important thing. For example if you at the net and you cover the pass down the line, then the next logical shot is a cross court pass or lob. If you are stretched out wide to the forehand side, the next shot from your opponent should to your backhand side most of the time. But are there any physical tip offs, like the use of the off hand or the foot position or angle of shoulder to look for..especially on ground strokes. I ask this because I do realize that this skill, if mastered, would improve defense as well as offense...you get to more balls and quickly enough to make more attacking shots.

She always gives credit to the opponent and never makes any excuses unlike Serena Williams.

She never has anything bad to say about any player even if other players might have something bad to say about her.

Sure she is an intense competitor and rubs some people the wrong way with her oncourt attitude, but off-court she is humble in victory and gracious in defeat.

I have a big problem playing the sport. It seems whenever I play a person better than me, I managed to do extremely well. I have low fast, deep penetrating shots, good accuracy, consistency, strategy. But, when I play someone who is, would I say bad; I become really terrible and usually almost lose to them. My serves are slow and faults, my returns are slow or hit the net, I do a lot of lobbing and etc. Why is this? I need help to adjust because its really infuriating.

I mean she is 6'2'', 20 years and a strong athlete. How on earth does she even manage to balance herself at just 59 kg?? And then there is Daniela Hantuchova who is 5'11'' and 56 kg!!!!! Isn't it ridiculous?

I am 6'2'' (male) and a bit thin and still weigh 77 kilos.

I want to make the tennis team really bad next fall. I am taking privet lessons, and group lessons right now. in the summer i will be taking a 2 hour class 4 days a week. but what i really want to know is what coaches are usually looking for. requirements are probably the same throughout many regions so if you are on the team, what did they look for. i am taking many classes to get better but i want to know what specifically i should work on.
Thanks
