I have a big problem playing the sport. It seems whenever I play a person better than me, I managed to do extremely well. I have low fast, deep penetrating shots, good accuracy, consistency, strategy. But, when I play someone who is, would I say bad; I become really terrible and usually almost lose to them. My serves are slow and faults, my returns are slow or hit the net, I do a lot of lobbing and etc. Why is this? I need help to adjust because its really infuriating.

I think this is a mental thing for you. There are players like this. They are so focused and motivated against the better players, but there is a pressure on you or you put pressure on yourself when playing lower quality players. I think you should just focus on the ball, focus on the point and think that any player you face has a big game plan against you. Good luck!

I have this same problem, and I have boiled it down to one thing. When I am playing someone who is ranked higher than me, I want to prove something to myself, the person I am playing, and anybody watching. I want to show off how good I am, and even though I am most likely going to lose, I am not going to give them the game for free, I am at least going to make them work for it.
Conversely, whenever I play someone who is ranked lower than myself, I think what is the point, if this really mattered I could beat them, and I am not as focused to win, or prove anything to anyone.
The way I get over it is this; if that person were any other person, and I didn't think that I could beat them, I would try hard to beat them, so why take that focus away. Think that they are better than you and imagine yourself playing someone that you think that you could never beat, and beat them. You have to get over the mental portion of this game to actually win it.
