My swim coach used to be able to tell if players competed in freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, or butterfly based solely on their physique.

What exactly are the different muscle groups that each stroke works out most? Can anyone give me the target areas (as specific as possible) for all four strokes?

Well, I'm a cross country runner and i row, and i've got loadsa stamina, and my cardiovascular strength is pretty good, according to all the tests we made in P.E. class. anyway, we now have this dumb project where this chick has like, an hour each evening to train to build up her cardiovascular strength. i've already had her running, like, so many times, so now i'm getting her to swim. i know that in the summer, i sometimes do just 50 to 75 laps in our 25m pool, i'm not a pro swimmer or excellent sportsperson except for running and rowing. of it weren't for those two, i'd be in really bad shape. welll, this chick is. so how long do you reckon 50 laps in a 25m pool would take her? i lose track of time, i just kind of, you know, slowly cruise...please please please help me! and also could you please tell me about any other activities that improve cardiovascular strength? thank you so much!xxxchechie
