Look, I swim at a national level, and I have the same problem, only I got tired a bit later...

anyway, I hardly even use free kicks, but fly kicks are important. every time you do a turn, kick as far as you can underwater- its good for your kick and your underwaters

running would help your breathing more than your legs, but doing machines at gyms for legs would really help.

Make sure your streatching your legs enough!! I stretch them for about 6 mintues. But, don't over strech!! I've had that problem

most of all, you just need pratice. I do a kick set every pratice, and every week or so it gets easier and I go faster. So just keep on kicking!!!

just keep on practicing your kick. some people aren't good at kick sets, i was one of those. i went to the end of the lane when it was a kick set, but didn't give up, cause you need your legs when you actually swim. you might try doing 6-beat kicking for freestyle also to get your legs better when you do swim sets also.

You just have to keep on practicing. Some people are better at kicking than others and some are better at pull than others but you just have to focus on your weaknesses to make them better.
