Has anyone ever swam in the ocean and seen a shark? Tell me your experiences!?

I have stood on a pier in Myrtle Beach, SC, and seen large sharks eating the pieces of fish that people fishing on the pier threw over the side. Alot of people were swimming a few hundred feet away, and the people on the pier told me the sharks are swimming there everyday and never bother the people.
My neighbor went swimming near a sandbar in Florida. A 3 foot grey shark swam up on him and scared the life out of him. They think the shark was attracted to his dive mask, as it was shiny like fish scales. He was scared! The shark seemed like it was sooooooo interested in him and his mask!
We go to the ocean every summer, and swim alot. I've never seen a shark in the water. My husband has been swimming in the ocean since he was a small boy. He is 37 now. He goes way out- I won't go out that far- and has no fear of sharks. He has never seen one.

Never a shark. Swam in an ocean with whales nearby and in a lake with crocodiles but not sharks.

I saw my first shark in Thailand.It was a nurse sharks.I saw a total of 3 nurse shark in just one dive! My dive master went forward and touched thier tail. They were so lazy that they just lay there.I thouched it too!! It was way cool.Hmmm..it felt like sand paper. It was the best dive ever

I felt something brush up against my leg one time. A moving object. A live object. The water was murky so I couldn't see exactly what it was. It scared me. My mind just assumed it was a shark. Maybe it was. Maybe it wasn't.

Nurse sharks... They're quite lazy bottom dwellers (like freshwater catfish)
Mako ... now that got me out of the water since I had bloody speared fish with me...
Hammerheads... Very strange to look at, look like aliens...
