hey i was watching this lion hunt on tv today and it didnt do it like any of you "hunters" after asking my last question to you folks i have discovered you so called hunters are just poachers. sitting up in a deer stand with doe urine scattered all around??...yup sounds like poaching...maybe if you roll around in mud to cover you scent and you use less modernized tools such as bow and arrow and track deer then MAYBE just MAYBE you could consider yourself a hunter, but if you sit in trees with guns tooting your grunter horns then you in my book are pitiful ..modern day "hunters" really just poachers

call yourselves what you want but if you do those things you are a poacher

Does anyone know if there is still an accesory that allows 4 magazines to be clipped onto a central piece? It was just 4 standard magazines onto a square plastic/metal holder. Ruger doesn't seem to have them and I can't find info anywhere. My dad's friend had one but I don't have his phone number to ask.

I seen that all of the factory rounds usually come in 150 ofr 170gr. flat or round noses, my question is, why cant you put a 110 or 90gr. hollow point or a JSP handgun bullet in a 30-30 case? The 150-170 are .308cal. as well as the 90-110. It would be a faster round, shoot flatter, but probably not hit as hard at greater distances. But you only need 500 ft.-lbs. to effectively kill a whitetail. Just wondering if anybody else ever thought of it before. Just think about it, a 110gr. JHP moving about 3000 ft. per sec. out of a 7 round 30-30. pitty the deer in the peanut field. Just wondering if it will work? Will IT?

I understand if your poor and cant afford to buy meat at the grocery store but whats the deal with killing whatever comes into sight? example i was out today and overheard talk about shooting a bobcat and leaving it to rot and the other guy brags about not getting any deer yet this season but manage to kill a few squirrels for fun..come on now this is sickening guys what kind of people are you to do things like this?

I just started shooting a week ago and I have the sight that normally comes with a Parker Buck Hunter package. The sight has 3 pointers: A red one, a yellow one, and a green one. Which one do I have to use to hit my target?

What type of shotshells would you advise that I use? I am hunting the squirrels for the table, though I do take their hides/tails as well. That is a secondary concern, though.
I concentrate on headshots and I am a relatively good shot with open sights.

What do you think works "best"?
Does it matter so much with the small .410?

I have 3 partial boxes of shells now:
7 1/2 shot 3 inchers,
6 shot 2 1/2 inchers,
and 4 shot 3 inchers.
You may also advise different size/shot combinations if you like any more than those three types.

I am using a .410 because I am still somewhat sensitive to recoil, and out of the guns I have access to, it is the 'next most friendly' one to my shoulder.

The gun is a pump-action Mossberg 500 with a built-in full choke, and it will shoot either size shell that I am referring to.

Later on in the season I will be using .22 LR rifles to hunt them, but I'm already well and good with shooting those.

Thanks.

My brother-in-law told me that automatic weapons are illegal to own. However I've seen numerous videos on yahoo or google where you have gun clubs shooting automatic pistols, rifles, submachine guns, etc. Are automatic weapons legal in some states?

I recently made my first kill, first cleaning, and butchered my first deer and was currious if there is a ratio to determine the amount of meat you can expect from a deer by it's weight or vice versa, take the anmount/weight of processed meat and calculate the size of the deer? In case anyone wants to know - 16 yrd shot, 20" bolt, 1 3/8" broadhead, 150lbs draw weight cross bow - frontal lower neck shot, penetrating 7", dropped it where it stood. I know I could have done a better job of butchering and I'll have proper/better equipment next time, just wondering if the is a way to "rate" my first experience in butchering.

Thanks

I am new (and female) to bird hunting and don't know whether to buy an over/under or side by side. I like the side by side b/c it lighter to carry around, but I'm a beginner. Help! :)
