Pop is a generic name for carbonated soft drinks. While water is the main ingredient, it is not the only thing that is in the beverage called "pop". In addition to the water, there are various flavorings, sweeteners and carbonation. Water, on the other hand, is simply H2O. No flavorings, no carbonation, no sweeteners, no additives of any kind, nothing but plain old aqua pura.

The problem of drinking soda pop versus water is simple. Most soda pop has caffeine which is a diuretic, in other words in makes you go to the bath room more often, and will dehydrate you. As for water it has no caffeine and will not dehydrate you.
