Mike Modano: lost his captaincy and has been demoted to the fourth line. The fans seem to love him but management doesn't seem to and perhaps he'll get fed up with it and ask for a trade before the deadline?

Jaromir Jagr: He doesn't seem to have any chemistry with his new teamates. Factoring in his age, do you think the Rangers will try to get rid of him to add some youth?

Any other players you can think of in the same scenario? Sergei Fedorov maybe? Mats Sundin even? (Hey, you never know. Just look at Ryan Smyth last year.)

Crosby currently leads the second-placed Andrei Markhov by over 4,500 votes, more than double their difference. He also has over three times as many votes as Vinny Lecavalier, front runner for the Art Ross trophy. What amazes me is the fact the Sidney Crosby, although he is what he is, has 11 goals and 19 assists through 20 games. He's currently 11th for goals scored, and 3rd in points. I know the kid had an amazing season last year, but has he done well enough this year to deserve such a lead in the polls?

Among active goalies in the NHL. He hasnt really had the best year this year and for a former #1 pick i think you can say its kind of dissipointing.

Where do you think he ranks currently among goalies and what do you think his future with the penguins is.

The Memorial Cup is the championship of the CHL which is Junior A Tier 1 hockey. The winners of the WHL, OHL, and QMJHL face off against one another.

The Frozen Four is the championship of the NCAA Division 1.

In a time when there is money to be made from TV - even in the NHL, I fail to see what was so advantageous about such a policy. The only thing I can see is the bullheaded idea that it would motivate people to come to the arena. But truthfully, the Blackhawks have had one decent shot at the Cup since they last won it in 1961, so that seems pretty thin to me. But, we ARE talking about (www.cheapskate.com - my nickname for him).

In 2004, during the semi-finals of the Flames' Cup Run, the Stanley Cup was on display at Sunridge Mall, right along my route home from work. People could get their photo taken with the Cup. But I didn't go. I thought the lineup would be too long. Even though I had NOTHING else to do that evening.

Now I regret it.

And the Flames aren't doing so well any more.

Will I ever see Stanley again?

I read in the Moncton paper the other day that over 150 scouts were registered to attend The Monctonian tournament. Even if every major junior team and all the more ambitious NCAA programs sends a scout, it doesn't seem to add up to 150 to me. Is the paper or the tournament orgainzers just pulling the number out of the thin air, or is 150 actually a realistic number?

Hey fellows, this is a serious question. George McPhee has ruined the Washington Capitals for me. Today's trade of Sutherby further proved the team is not done rebuilding, which makes Ted Leonsis a liar. So, I'm in the market for a new NHL Team to support. I live in Northern VA, but everyone else here likes another team anyway. So - Knowing that I hate and can never support a Caps rival (Divisional or Traditional), and I hate the Senators and all the teams from New York, which hockey team should I support, and why? Very serious question by the way. It does hurt to ask. Thanks for your serious answers~

This is so awesome. He's been playing hockey for god knows how long. He recently is playing for virginia tech university, and has received a letter from the NHL stating that he is the first one on the list for the fifth round of the draft. If not the Detroit Redwings, he said he'd like to play for the San Jose Sharks. How exactly does that work?

I think it would for a few reasons:

-we have good economy

-Nearly 400, 000 people

-TONS of hockey fans

- there have been soooo many great hockey players out of London, or from the London knights, for example, Darryl Sittler, Brendan Shanahan, Rick Nash, Corey Perry, Gagne, Pat Kane, and the list goes on forever.

- We could easily sell out all the seats in the John Labatt Centre

Negative:

- It could KILL the OHL

- a little close to Toronto, but would make a good rivalry

- i would have a tough time cheering for two teams :P

thats what i can think of, what do you guys think?

Larry Robinson was one of the most dominant d-men of his time, where does he rank among the true greats. Obviously he is not in the same league as Orr and his offensive numbers are nowhere near Bourque or Coffey but with career numbers of

1383 games 208 G 750A 958 points +/-730

How does he compare to some off the all-time greats as well as guys like Pronger/Lidstrom etc

..when he was a teenager, as stated in an answer to one of Snoop's questions. Therefore, I have decided to never talk about hockey with my father again. (He is into, and played college football).
Another conversation I had this weekend with a friend (born in Montreal in the 40s) stated that Vincent Lecavalier was like Guy Lefleur (I find this total offensive),while comparing Andrei Markov to Bobby Orr. Give me a break. Then he stated since I was not raised in a hockey environment, I could never fully understand what being a REAL hockey fan is about. I understand attending Leafs/Habs game back in the day would have been pretty amazing. Anyway, questions:

1.) If you are from Canada(the kind where your father would make a rink in the backyard for you in the winter) do you feel you are a more superior hockey fan? Please be honest.
2.) I need a good comeback for my Canadian hockey loving friend, next time he suggest that I lack hockey knowledge and hints I drive a bandwagon.

Last night, read about the Tampa Bay Lighting’s huge financial trouble in the beginning, and I was wondering what teams are in huge financial trouble right now. I assume the Predators are one of the teams not banking right now, but whom else do you know of that is having financial trouble in the NHL?
