Larry Robinson was one of the most dominant d-men of his time, where does he rank among the true greats. Obviously he is not in the same league as Orr and his offensive numbers are nowhere near Bourque or Coffey but with career numbers of

1383 games 208 G 750A 958 points +/-730

How does he compare to some off the all-time greats as well as guys like Pronger/Lidstrom etc

If I had to draft a regular NHL team from all the players who've ever suited up, Big Bird ends up in my third pair of defensemen.
Orr, Harvey, Bourque, Leetch, Robinson and Lidstrom.

Pronger isn't in the top ten yet

1. Bobby Orr
2. Eddie Shore
3. Doug Harvey
4. Allan Stanley
5. Raymond Bourque
6. Pierre Pilote
7. Denis Potvin
8. Scott Stevens
9. Nicklas Lidstrom
10. Paul Reinhart (Wayne Gretzky called him the toughest defenceman he ever had to play against - and it was nice to hear Al MacInnis and Scott Stevens say how important he was to their junior careers!)
11. Sprague Cleghorn
12. Rod Langway
13. Viacheslav Fetisov
14. Brad Park
15. Tom Johnston

I love Larry Robinson, Scott Niedermayer, Chris Pronger, Borje Salming, Paul Coffey, Tim Horton, Chris Chelios, Serge Savard, Doug Wilson, Guy Lapointe, Al Macinnis and Bill White too..........but only so much room for great defencemen

I would say Big Bird is in the top 5 of all-time defensemen.
With Orr, Lidstrom, Leetch, and Bourque!

Hum, Pronger isn't in the top 10 yet.

Just my opinion but he is 3rd all time behind Orr and Harvey.

For defense, way way up there.
I don't have a list to tell you exactly where way way up there is, but its up there.
