Family on my dads side likes some kind of sport like baseball and tennis. I feel left out and I have no hobby so I am trying to learn soccer.

With the high possibility that Ghana will be facing Brazil in the knock-out round(last sixteen), what are their chances of progressing even further?

However, even if Ghana do make it to the quater-finals - they will have to wrestle it with Spain, provided Spain win their next match. To make matters even worse, in the semi-finals Ghana will have to get rid of England ~ one way or the other. As if that was not enough ~ in the final, they will have to face either Germany or Italy.

So it seems as if Ghana's next four games will be against Brazil, Spain, England and lastly Germany ~ if Germany makes it to the finals at Italy's expense.

There is plenty of fantastic football to look forward to these coming few days. It's owesome.

With another earlier than expected exit from the World Cup, what does the USA team do now? How can they get over that illusive International hump and really compete with the world powers of soccer?

It's unfortunate because it is such an exciting and uniting sport. Hockey doesn't do very well in the states either. Get with the program you ignorant fools!! Talk about ethnocentric!

As an ex-fan of the Brazilian team, I was thinking of what might have happened to my ex-favorite team. The first time I saw the brazilian team play in the WC was in 1982 (i was 10 years old). They played the real beautiful game. For those of you who didn't see the 82 cup, I invite you to look in FIFA world cup web site for the Brazil vs USSR match , and specifically the second goal by Brazil's 'Eder'. That was the most beautiful goal scored ever, IMO.

Fast forward 24 years later, and here we have the uggly brazilian team playing an uggly brazilian game. So what might have happened you ask? Well, i think i have the answer for you.

Basically, i think today's Brazil team have became the W. germany team of the 80's. Germany in 82, 86 , and 90 played the uggliest game , with bullying, kicking, and no imagination whatsoever. Yet they played an efficent and balanced game and were able to reach the finals all three times.

Before the tourney started he was the odds on favorite for the final. But that penalty shot? Is he out, maybe good for another quarter final match, or does FIFA give him the bonus points for making "the tough call" and give him the final?

THEY SHOULD BE SHOWN THE PLAY AND IF THEY MISSED THE CALL..OWN UP TO IT...

IN THIS GAME..THE BLOWN CALL..WOULD NOT HAVE ADVANCED THE USA TO THE NEXT ROUND..BUT IT DID DECIDE THE GAME...

THE NBA REFS WERE HORRID AT BEST AND I WAS GOING FOR MIAMI..

ALL REFS NEED TO PUBLICALLY APOLOGIZE FOR MISSED CALLS OR IF THEY ARE CONVICT ON THEIR ABILITY TO CALL THE PLAY...THEN JUSTIFY THEIR CALL.
