bad call, but not the reason the US lost.

I agree. That was one of the worst call I have ever seen! Also, I agree with bbatmob, the Ghana players were faking a lot of their "injuries" and trying to take up time! That game was a bunch of crap!

... Also, I know the U.S. had to win and a draw wouldn't help, but still, does that mean the referees had to make it an unfair game? Also, you know that if it were tied 1-1, the U.S. would play much harder. It's psychological...

that was a hoooorible call by the ref. That was not a foul it was just good agressive play by both players going up for the ball. And plus is was during stopage time at the end of the half. You shouldnt call those kind of fouls at all but especially in the box and especially at the end of a half in a physicall must win game for both teams. The call was BAD!

There were some questionable calls, but the US didn't come and play their best. I would almost agree with the fact that maybe Bruce Arena should be replaced as coach, but all in all it comes down to the players and the US did not play well..at all other than the Italy game.

Yes, that was not a penalty unfortunately for the USA. However, that would not have given the USA a win either, the draw would have still helped Ghana since Italy totally outclassed the Czechs who had three points before the game and remained with their three points intact.

Should the penalty not have been given, with Italy still winning against their opponents, we would have had this scenario;

TEAM-------GD--------POINTS
ITA -----------4--------------7
GHA----------0--------------4
CZE--------(- 1)------------3
USA--------(- 4)------------2

Still USA would not have made it through.Congratulations to Ghana, they were really no match for the Americans....

enable me preface this by utilising asserting that Ghana won the journey and deservedly so, congratulations. think of how badly they might have overwhelmed the US if their HUSBANDS had come to play, adult adult males do no longer shame themselves at the same time as making a mockery of their chosen occupation like they did.....era. although i'm a US fan, i could have been unwell to my abdomen staring at my team attempt to circulate slowly forward on their knees like that, greater useful to lose with dignity than win in shame, and that's purely fantastic with me.

Yes, it was a bad call. But if Bocanegra had cleared the ball instead of popping it up, it never would have happened.
