THEY SHOULD BE SHOWN THE PLAY AND IF THEY MISSED THE CALL..OWN UP TO IT...

IN THIS GAME..THE BLOWN CALL..WOULD NOT HAVE ADVANCED THE USA TO THE NEXT ROUND..BUT IT DID DECIDE THE GAME...

THE NBA REFS WERE HORRID AT BEST AND I WAS GOING FOR MIAMI..

ALL REFS NEED TO PUBLICALLY APOLOGIZE FOR MISSED CALLS OR IF THEY ARE CONVICT ON THEIR ABILITY TO CALL THE PLAY...THEN JUSTIFY THEIR CALL.

I think what it is referring to is the lack of accountability by all referee's in alot of different sports. True soccer referee's (which I happen to be on for 7 years) are out there on an island and we have the benefit of watching replays, but all officials should have some sort of grading system or be called out when they make a mistake. If I make a mistake at my job, I get called on it. What makes officials, especially soccer referee's immune to it?

I agree with you! I didn't see the NBA finals game, but I did see the U.S. vs. Ghana game today and those German referees (yes, they were German, at least that's what I heard and supposedly they are some of the best in the world cup...haha, yea right!) were not doing anything right! I hope they do something to them because they ruined the entire game and, more than likely, the U.S. chances to qualify to the next round!

... Also, ignore these people that say to stop whining! I bet if the refs did something unfair to their team, they would be "whining" too! They just can't admit that the refs were being unfair, especially on the penalty!

... Also, did you see Ghana falling and throwing themselves all over the ground TRYING to get a foul or penalty!? Honestly, I have never seen so many cry babies on a team and they would get "hurt" to take time up. I did not see many U.S. players go down, but the Ghana players were falling every minute of the game!

I don't know, that's a tough question........to those of you who told this guy to stop whining, he wasn't whining, he said it wouldn't have made a difference in the US's advancement - and no, I'm not American. However, as for the question, it's a tough question, as a sports fan I sometimes wonder 'where in the hell the ref was', or 'what frickin game he's watching', but as a hockey referee I also realize, that the moment you admit fault you lose your integrity as a referee, players will begin to not respect your decisions or your ability. You must remain firm in your decisions. With that said, if you are a referee, and you are screwing up at all times, then the same will happen, you will lose control of the game and so on. Don't kid yourselves though peoples, a referee knows when he has done a bad job, and when he hasn't.................Getting him to admit to it, and having many angered fans become even more angry might not be in the best interest of their safety......

The yellow card has ruined the game. Those refs are giving a yellow card from 30 feet away just because a guy falls down. I don't know about making them justify their calls but these refs have been the worst seen in World Cup soccer.

Seriously stop whining. Calls go against your team and sometimes do go for them. Stopping a game to reffer the decision will stop the flow of the game, interrupt it. What makes football so glorious and beautiful is its flow and end-end nature. Forget the refs they are doing the best they can. If you still arent satisfied try running from one end of the pitch to the other for 90 mins and keeping your concentration throughout the period. Also dont forget the thousands of supporters shouting their lungs out... Refs have a hard job, lets make it easier without pointing fingers at them

Yeah defentially. When US was vsing Ghana US had there hands down it wasnt a foul.. The refs are terrible.. Ghana every single moment they were throwing themselfs on the ground.. Im a teenager and If I got tripped and flying I would get right back up.. Ghana just did that to waste time and I was screaming at the television. US isnt that good but I'm still rooting them on..
well not anymore =.(

Stop whining! The refs. are human and anyway other teams got worse calls.

And if they do what your suggesting, that would make the game too long and tedious. No one wants the game to have so many breaks.

And anyway, what's football without a little controversy?
