Here is the deal...all of the top American atheletes play other sports such as football, basketball and baseball. Look at the best American player, I think he is 5-8 150lbs. If our top atheletes chose to play soccer when they were growing up instead of other sports, America would be a top team, if not the best in the world.
If you look at the top American atheletes in their repective sports and compare them to atheletes in other countries, the Americans are far and away BETTER.
What if growing up Michael Jordon chose to play soccer instead of basketball or Barry Bonds instead of baseball? America would be an elite team.

Their offense is lacking. They've got the statistics but need to emphasize more on attacking.
Also, some more national support from Americans would boost the American national team pride. This iscoming from a Canadian, so I sympathize with the American National soccer team.
I don't think you should rely on FIFA rankings...

Simply this: Bruce Arena lost what it meant to be a good coach. How and why did he start Landon Donovan up front for the first two games? Where was John O'Brien? Where was Eddie Johnson? His line-ups were horrible. Landon Donovan is a jelly fish....his mouth is a stinger but he is mush, no spine. This is suppose to be the leader.

Nothing. America is part of the world too. You need to accept that. Why do you want America out? They are a great nation that has helped many become better people. You are getting a fair chance.

They really suck! They only got 1 point, and that was because an Italian player scored a goal for the U.S. They were the fifth rated team and they don't advance to the next round. thats sad

It can't score goals and it has no offense. It needs a new coach who knows something about offense. That's what my dad says and he played semi pro back in the 50s and early 60s and is president of the Oldtimers Soccer Association. (I'm not even sure what offense is;)
