i'm truly against racism and i just wonder why in sport, especially football where the world is united there are still racist ones.

I am not saying that Zidane is right for having reacted to the provocation, but verbal abuse using personal things is 10,000 times worse; especially if it's used as part of a strategy to target key players in order to win a game. How much more evil can you get than that.

It was pretty interesting too to see that Materazzi stayed on the ground laying there up until the red card was given after which he stood back up and resumed playing. This is so incredibly typical!

I hope not...yeah what he did was wrong (and i wasn't even supporting France) but he was the best player of the tournament and he's just awesome. but is he going to get golden title taken away?

My views on the following: Yes: Gold Cup is not a dirty one. It is just a valuable object given to champions. But I think one of the individuals in the team measured a dirty way to acquire it, and indeed he did! not very glorifying. This does not undermine the value of gold :-) but diminshes the pride of having it at this occasion.

It is not a dirty cup ...the Italian team deserved to win including materazzi, who scored 2 goals for the team.....and he should be very proud of himself!!! It's soccer not playschool!!!!!

Since Juventus was stripped of those titles in the match-fixing scandal, where will those two championships go? Will they be awarded to the runner-up, or will they go into the records as not won?

personally, i think he didnt deserve it. this isnt the first time that hes lost it during a match and had to be kicked off the field. i dont care what materazzi said...a bigger man would have used his anger to play a better game...instead zidane used violence. that was unnecessary and innapropriate.
