My views on the following comment. Yes: Gold Cup is not a dirty one. It is just a valuable object given to champions. But I think one of the individuals in the team measured a dirty way to acquire it, and indeed he did! Not very glorifying. This does not undermine the value of gold :-) but diminishes the pride of having it at this occasion.

Original comment: It is not a dirty cup ...the Italian team deserved to win including materazzi, who scored 2 goals for the team.....and he should be very proud of himself!!! It's soccer not playschool!!!!!

Who is Zeidan and what is the Gold Cup?
Sounds like something related to horse-racing!

Yes, I agree with your views. The cup is not a dirty one, infact it is sacred in my view with the ambitions of so many people lying over it. But there should be a honourable way to acquire it. Sledging and fighting are accepted to a limited extent in a game that raises the pressure levels. But the way of targeting and abusing a possible match-winner in a very ugly way is never acceptable. You are getting the cup for the game you play, but not for the way you behave and so playing well should be the main thing they should concentrate on. But trying to win the game by humiliating and sending off a legend is not worth winning the cup.

PS: If they had won the cup with real game they should have had much respect towards it. But they didnt give that respect to that cup too.. they broke it the very night they won it.. what a pity!!

I don't like the tone of your question and have decided to just forgive you for the mocking and mean treatment of Vietnam Vets. I lived for three years in a bamboo cage on my knees. I was eventually released by a sweep that was done by the military. I am now permanently disabled and I used to be fabuloous ball room dancer. Ahh those days are all over. Remember to be kind and friendly to everyone online for you do not know who has served and been beaten by the Viet Cong while living as a prisoner. Thanks
