Waiting ANOTHER 4 years is painful. Why don't they play these games every year? Or at least every 2 years. What is your opinion?

Papers keep saying that this was out last chance at winning the World Cup, because of the team we have, but I think we have still got a chance, even if a few of the players won't be around by the next World Cup; we'll hopefully have Aaron Lennon, who was exceptional in the minutes that he was on the pitch, we'll have Jermain Defoe (hopefully), and Darren Bent. Rooney will still be there. Maybe Lampard and Gerrard still have another World Cup left in them, along with John Terry, and Ashley Cole.

It's not the "End of the World."

Lambs had a poor World Cup and proved to me that he's not 'world class'. England needed the manager to be bold but he had no nuts. Why take Theo and no use him? England needed goals no Bent or Defoe.

but some answers please !
(1) was Sven really an overpaid, unemotional and impassionate waste of the FA's time?
(2) Are we all glad that an Englishman is finally back in charge?
(3) Does British football, as an international team, really have a future? They say we invented the damn game, so why aren't we mastering it?

I'm expecting for germany and brazil to be in the final, and that would be a great moment of World Cup. In the semis, i expected German,England,Italy and Brazil.

For the record I'm Scottish and my partner is Brazilian.

Two excellent football teams went out of the world cup yesterday. Both teams played fair in the main and went out with dignity. No teddy bears were thrown out of prams. Although both teams commit occasional unsporting acts (including one very obvious one yesterday), you have to say both show a high standard of sportsmanship, and when on form, are a delight to watch.

Now - I'm Scottish - so is this somehow an act of betrayal to say this? Do I need to react to a few crazed English fans who think that their general footballing success is somehow a re-enactment of Culloden, by descending to their level, or joining in with a few crazed Scots who think yesterday was a rerun of Bannockburn?

Bugger that. If we believe Scotland is a nation, let's behave like we believe it. If we have national pride and dignity, let's show it by growing up
