Lampard is a good player and deserved to be in the squad but when a player is playing badly like him, the manager should have the guts to drop him or even substitute him. I think Lampard can't seem to play his own game alongside Gerrard, they stifle each other.Gerrard is a much better player,so, Lampard would be cover for Gerrard.

I strongly disagree with you on this one Frank Lampard is world class he is one of the top 2 English midfielders in England the other being steven gerrard. I do agree with you that he had a poor world cup but form is only tempory where skill is everlasting. When he had the good chance on goal i was expecting him to bury it.
Why take Theo Walcott???? I have no idea?
Some times Svens selection baffles me completley. I would much rather taken a proven goal scorer i.e Jermaine Defoe, Darren Bent.
I was surprised that Shaun Wright Phillips wasnt taken either but i was pleased with the way Aaron Lennon played and gave a good account for himself he surely is the one to take the right side from Beckham.
All in all I was a disapointed with the way England played throughout this world cup but the did show some good things and surely England football team has a great future with some of the fantastic young players stepping up to table and being counted.

i kinda know what you mean, he had more shots than anyone else in the tournament. i think he was trying to find that best form again. its like Ronaldo he was world class, then he was slacking 1998 but he gradually found his form and they won in 2002 world cup.
I really hope Lampard gets his form back again, i miss those good goals he scored like he did in Chelsea.
Theo was useless why couldn't they take someone like James Beattie? he is a good striker
Overall i blame Sven he was rubbish and this year the cracks showed, i feel sorry for the rest of the England squad that worked hard to get to the quarter final stage like Gerrard, Terry and Crouch.
Rooney is an idiot with a temper problem

I agree. Theo is 'useless' in this world cup and Sven might know it, so he didn't dare use Theo. Should have brought Defoe, Wright-Philips, or even Vassel.
I still don't know what on earth happened to Lampard's form.

I think he played better than he had in previous matches, so, I don't think he should have dropped him. As for Bent and Defoe, I agree, they should have been chosen, however, we might as well stop moaning about "what if's", and "if only's", it's over for us now.
McClaren can't be as bad as Erikkson, and he is used to the English game, unlike Erikkson who was a manager in Italy, I think, before he got the England manager.
About Walcott. Did Erikkson even use Jenas?

I agree. SO many players fighting for a place ,Lampard got it automatically despite having the most amount of shots but not scoring

yes lampard should have been dropped from day one. Crouch should've been used more as well as EVERYONE else. Not sure about walcot though, bit pointless taking the lad there really!

I totally agree. Just hope Lampard won't bring his bad luck or whatever it was back to Chelsea next season.
