I think you have hit the nail on the head, where Sven is concerned! Waste of EVERYONE'S time. Yes I agree with you 100%
Yes, thank goodness an Englishman is taking over,I only hope he does better than Sven, who I really believe was there more for money than the game. Just look at the positions he had them in,ridiculous!
Of course it has a future, you must have seen the game? The team did very well holding Portugal off,not letting them score,we only had 10 men! Other games seemed very ragged, and we all know, for some reason, none of them performed to their full potential. We need a manager thats totally commited to the team, one who's prepared to go the extra mile.I watched an interveiw with some of the players, who when asked about their positions of play, replied, "we have to do what the boss (manager) tells us" Don't they have any say? What do you think of the positions they played? Rooney isolated? It all seemed a bit odd to me!

2) No
3) Yes and No
I think Sven did an okay job. The truth is that only one team can lift the WC every 4 years. England has had its chances but was unfortunately rubbed out by some miraculous / lucky goal-keeping. And I don't really think nationalities have too much to do with good coaching. Guus Hiddink is a fantastic case in point. Three teams in the last three WCs, three very good results.
I think England has a future in international football, just because it doesn't win everything doesn't mean it totally sucks. And England should be happy they invented lots of the great sports of the world... Football, Cricket, Tennis....oh well, forget about them !
There are other sports that England still dominates, real sports...
like...
darts !

I know its unfashionable, but I thought Sven was a good manager, we need some one cool and calculated to manage us surely!
I don't know anything about this new manager, but I think England should be made to be more of a team and have less of this fuss about stars, I mean all that fuss about Rooney's leg, will he won't he be fit enough to play and what does he do when he is able to play? I seem to remember Greece wining the Euro cup with no major stars! This is how I'd like to see England managed.

(1) nah, he was fine, you did OK with Sven.
(2) you shouldn't waste time caring about that. The Irish did well with Charlton. Bertie Vogts was useless, but that wasn't because he was German. It was because he was crap.
(3) British team? Not in favour. Quite happy to carry on with the four nations representing themselves separately. Last time Scotland got to the world cup, I had a ball, even though we got knocked out early.

(1) Yes
(2) Yes
(3) NO..... Too much partying to do on the rare time Scotland gets in the final stages of any tournament. Love Scotland too much to join up with anybody. The tartan army has had a great time over in Germany.
