Papers keep saying that this was out last chance at winning the World Cup, because of the team we have, but I think we have still got a chance, even if a few of the players won't be around by the next World Cup; we'll hopefully have Aaron Lennon, who was exceptional in the minutes that he was on the pitch, we'll have Jermain Defoe (hopefully), and Darren Bent. Rooney will still be there. Maybe Lampard and Gerrard still have another World Cup left in them, along with John Terry, and Ashley Cole.

It's not the "End of the World."

Yes I do think its the end of the golden generation.... but i think there is an even better generation of footballers coming through with the likes of Lennon,Wright phillips and co. People are talking as if Rooney, Joe cole and such as them are old men. They forget that that the 2 named are only 21 & 23 respectivley. One thing I despise about team selection is picking old men. I do think that you have to have a few experianced older players in the team to provide leadership qualitys but this should be balanced perfectly with youth to provide enthusiasm.

I hope Steve Mclaren does a better job that Sven and leads this team to glory in the forthcoming tournemants.

Your right ChelseaBabe it aint the end of the World
You've still got a lot of good players in the Squad who will still be about in 4 years time, and a few other exciting prospects who will figure shortly.
The BIGGEST Bonus for you is that you've got rid of Sven Borin Eriksson, Who i've ben saying on here for ages is Englands weak link.
You just need to hope that McLaren is not a chip off the old block.

So from this Scot, You've missed a great chance of winning this competition, But SVEN pure and simply IS to BLAME for that, But the future does look rosy for the England team, at the Euro Champs and the Next World Cup

I don't think so, just as long as clubs continue to recognise the talent with have in this country rather than buying overpriced foreign players. It is a sport with more revenue and interest than any other in this country and probably most schoolboys dream to be a good player. National interest in the sport has never been higher.

nah its not the end of the Golden Generation, some of of players havent reached their peaks yet, so maybe in the future with a bit of luck and a better manager than the newly installed McClaren we might win something.
