Rumor had it that the talks the Jets had with the recently released Patriot were intended more to get information from him than to offer him a wide receiver position.

It seems to me that people are automatically assuming that any illegal taping was to cheat in the ongoing game. While this might be true, I have difficulty imagining how someone could tape a call, relay it to the coach, who in turn would relay info to change a play in real-time game play. Keeping in mind that the QB must relay info to other players, sometimes in a hurry up offense. I now wonder if the taping, while illegal, was done to obtain a deeper understanding of play calling for future games. I want to here your views.

I just wonder if he could take teams like Cleveland, Oakland Tampa to division title this year... I think when we evaluate a QB we are also evaluating his receivers.

Is this how they became a "dynasty" suddenly this era, after many years of being one of the jokes of the NFL? Funny thing is if SO many other teams do it like some misinformed posts have said, then why has no other team been caught or made an example out of like the Pats are now? I think they are dirty little wh*re cheaters.....but then again I thought they were before the tape came out!!! LOL

Screw the Pats, I hope they get the book thrown at them.....But I know they won't get much more than a slap

If the Patriots cheated and they are given a slap on the wrist then it's over for the NFL. This punishment is important because it'll send a message to other teams.

I don't care if other teams have been cheating all these year. It still doesn't make it right.

So if the Patriots are given a slap on the wrist then this suggest that other teams can cheat as well fully knowing that they won't be punished severly. I don't think taking away a draft pick with a fine will be enough.

I like the asterisk idea on all their past championships as well as submitting a loss to the Jets in addition to the draft pick reduction. Some more extreme ones would include not letting them enter the playoffs. I would like that, but it doesn't seem likely to happen at least compared to the other suggestions.

SC supporters don't even need to be bitter and envious. We don't even care about other teams and we barely talk about them.

So who are the obnoxious fans now?

Yes it's you. The obnoxious haters who can't appreciate other people's success and always bad-mouth other teams.

Go ahead and pick any era, though my list is a tad more modern.
1) Archie Griffin
2) Bo Jackson
3) OJ Simpson
4) Herschel Walker
5) Barry Sanders
almost made the list: Earl Campbell, Ricky Williams, Ron Dayne.

I cannot believe after all this that Kevin Everett will more than likely be able to walk. It's amazing what a little praying and good medical treatment can do for someone. I am so relieved and happy to hear that news.

Starters or reserves - it doesn't matter. All quarterbacks have the green dot, and nobody else. I don't remember seeing this before this year, but I couldn't say for sure it wasn't there before.

USC is favored by 10 over Nebraska in Nebraska. They've had two weeks to prepare. USC did not cover against Idaho (45 points! and I think that Pete Caroll did not wanna bust a cap into Idaho . . .

Georgia Tech is favored by 7 1/2 at home against BC. I like GT because BC won last week on 5 turnovers. GT ain't gonna be so sloppy, especially at home. Which game has the better chance of covering?

Who do you think will make it into the super bowl this year?

2007-09-11 15:52:51 · 27 answers · asked by ₣LiP 2

I'd say the top 3 are:
1. Steve Young because of the most rushing TD's by a Q.B
2. Dan Marino because of all the TD passes
3. John Elway because of the 4th quarter comebacks.

Two great MNF games, some upsets, some outstanding performances and resounding hits.

A team caught cheating (Gasp!), a coach already on the hot seat, and a Calving Johnson TD.

A Titans ground game that was dominant, a Seahawks D that wouldn't stop,

A Chad Johnson celebration (whats new) a plethora of Raven turnovers (THATS new!)

49's back? Cowboys really that good? Colts didn't lose a SINGLE step!?!?

Grossman...Gross. Everett...Recovering (thank God). Bronco's...Making it happen at the very last minute.

I do belive there was a little extra crisp in the air this morning...Must be Football season.

What did I miss?

I beleive it will be Tom Coughlin from the NY Giants. He took the team bowling during the preseason to try to improve morale. One afternoon of bowling is not going to hold over the entire season. He may be good coach, but I don't think he can inspire his players.
