If a running back drops a football and then picks it up, is that technically a "fumble" but not a "turnover"?

What if he drops the football and a defensive player picks it up, maintains possession, then later drops it and the original running back picks it up and is tackled. Is that two "fumbles" and two "turnovers" for statistics purposes?

I know OSU is #1, then USC, next Michigan, and finally Florida. But can a win in the SEC Championship get them enough points to pass USC.

Both teams have one loss. Michigan loss to the number 1 team, Ohio State, at Ohio State, in a close game. USC loss to the number 24 team. Michigan gave the only loss to number 7 Wisconsin, and beat number 10 Notre Dame badly at Notre Dame. USC beat number number 9 Arkansas and beat Notre Dame at USC.

So what logic dictates that USC is ranked higher than Michigan? Or is it just that a so-called national championship game between OSU and USC would be better than one between OSU and Michigan?

Isn't the BCS a total farce?

This is a HUGE week for me. Win and I'm pretty much in playoffs. I have Chargers D (they have Bills) who have been ok recently. I could pick up the Raiders D against Houston. Raiders D has been tough recently. Who should I start? Thanks!

Atlanta fans are you ready to give up on Vick? This guy has really not done anything but win one play off game in Lambeau field. Every third week he has a good game and twice a year he will pass the ball well. But last week did it for me, you don't diss your own fans, the people who have your back after each of your bad games. This guy is a mess, just like his brother. Vick is never going to be a great QB, he might get you into the play offs, but he does not have what it takes to win a Super Bowl....are you ready to trade him? Pass his problems onto some other team, I think Schaub is a better fit for the team anyways. AND if management did not agree with me, why haven't they traded away Schaub in the last two offseasons when his stock was high?

Hey, not to sound stupid, as I do mean this as a serious question. What constitutes a QB getting 'benched'? I like Jake, and am not saying he should or shouldn't have gotten benched, but I have seen many other QB's do just as bad (or worse) and it is never a big deal. What gives?

Now that McNabb is hurt (again) do you think the Eagles will try to go after an early-round QB in the next draft? I know McNabb has a contract and all, but Andy is wary of players who can't stay healthy (e.g. Duece Staley).

Why do so many people seem to have a hard time distinguishing between the 2? I am willing to bet that 80+ percent of NFL players take some type of supplement. Is it not possible for the supplement companies, since they are not regulated, to put a type of steroid into the supplement? It drives me nuts that people now label Merriman as a steroid user. When people like Urlacher and Lewis are probably doing the exact same thing.....Speak out.

ok so irvin said Romo must be black if he is that good. he said it on a talk show well it dont bother me that he said that but if a white man said that they would fire him or have his hide. i think it should be fair if a black or white man says something like that it should be same punishment although i think peopl r to sensitive over race comments so what if a white guy says blacks run faster than whites u know most of em do its not racist its true and its a compliment maybe some races are gifted at certain things and others arent its not racist it comes from your environment ok relax people all im saying is calm down and if we r gonna punish peopl for comments u have to treat black and white the same
