The Broncos team and spirit are spiraling into a downfall. A team which once sat a top the AFC West, is not fighting for a playoff spot. Jake has been awful this year, especially compared to last year. Jake has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns. He has a quarterback rating of 70.5 and he is only completing 55% of his passes. Quite Frankly he is not getting the Job done.
The Broncos have lost two in a row. The passing game is abysmal. Jay Cutler is coming in and bringing something new. He gives the Broncos the best chance to win because he gives them the only chance to win. Jake is losing. They need to win and they need to win now. Jake will never be the next John Elway, as the Denver fans want. He was only a transition QB. It is time to move on. Cutler is the future. The future is here and now.

You have to live here in Denver to understand this stupid move, They hate him here, if LJ runs for 150 yards on the Broncos it's jakes fault, if LT runs for 4 touchdowns itls Jakes fault, If the Steelers come in to town and sack, Jake plumer and Put up 21 points before half time it's Jake's fault. This town has been against him from the start. If it snows too much and people can't get out of thier driveways it's Jake plummers fault.
The guy is a decent QB he has won alot of games for Denver and even when he wins they say at least he didn't screw that up. Just stupid, since I'm not stupid I guess I don't qualify to be a Bronco Fan. Get this they wanted to get rid of Champ Bailey, the fans around here were trashen him too.
My team sucks right now, The Steelers but I'm sticking with em. No crossing over to the Darkside for me.

Why did they bench Jake? Because he is not John Elway. So many Bronco fans are total bandwagon fans. Like one other person said, no matter what happens, Jake is at fault. Of course when they win games, it's never to credit Jake. Yeah he's not a superstar, but what kind of message does this send to the fans? "Well I guess we've given up on this year. We're going to throw in a rookie and get him some playing time". Craziness. I wonder what the other players think about it......

SD and KC fans should be rejoicing in this crazy decision. Denver just went from being a contendor to a rebuilder in the span of one week.
pure rookie QBs are likely to struggle. To expect cutler to win games right from the start is unreasonable. Denver should have ridden out the season with Jake. At 7-4, jake was on pace to lead the team to 10-6 or maybe even 11-5. this would mean yet another playoff birth.
cutler will lose most of the games for them this year.. expect to see many bad decisions.. fumbles, interceptions, etc..
it's one thing to look good in practice of exhibition games.. regular season is totally different..

shanahan has seen what jake has to offer in the first few games, and they are 7 - 4, i guess he knows if he stays with jake he may have a chance at the playoffs but its a long shot with the bolts and chiefs doing so well, so with a new young QB, maybe the team will get a spark and if not hey cutler got some in game experiance for next year and watch out here comes Denver

A 40+ year Bronco fan here. Was a Plummer supporter for a long time also. In watching Shanahan & Plummer on the side lines the past several weeks I think this has been brewing for awhile. Plummer has not been playing well so it might be a good thing. We know that Cutler was going to the starter next year so this is just a little early.

I like Jake too, but the pressure on him to perform this year was quite high and he just didn't live up to it. The Bronco's are in a win-win situation, they give Jake a break-test their rookie qb, and if all fails can put the blame on both qb's.

I like Jake Plummer too, but he has been very inconsistant this year, he has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns, and Mike Shannhan had to make a choice for the team, so hopefully Jake Cutler can get the job done.

Cutler is the future. Jake is just a fair QB and the team is really good. If Cutler pans out they will make a run at the SB .

"Jake the Fake" When he was with Arizona he usually was the one that got the team in the hole by fumbling and interceptions and then in the 4th quarter he had good statistics because the defense started giving more room to prevent the big play.
