You make a solid case for trading michael Vick. I often wonder if the receivers feel the same way. They have a solid receiving corps and an excellent tight end. Vick was an excellent college quarterback, and he still is. If they could run the option and mix in the pass sporadically he would be the perfect fit. But in the NFL the option is just not an option. (funny?....nah) You are correct about Schaub. He seems to be a nice QB with an accurate arm and good decision making skills. I think Vick is too concerned with proving to everyone that he can pass when most would be satisfied if he can prove that he can win. I think he has the skills to be a good QB but he must work on his accuracy and decisions. I think Atlanta is not the right place for him. They want to run the west coast offense for which Schaub would be an excellent fit. I say trade him. You won't get the full value. Maybe take a second round pick.

I think everyone will agree that Vick is a super athelete, but not necessarily a great quarterback. This really doesn't matter as long as Vick and Falcons win. However, they do not win consistantly. Currently the Falcons are only as good as Vick plays. Vick is a runner and needs to accept that. His running or threat to run opens up the pass. Vick needs to learn to quit listening all the supposedly "experts" and do what he does best. If Vick cannot get his head on straight, drop the ego, and just play ball, Vick will never lead the Falcons or any team to a championship. The Falcon's receivers are average at best, but could use some help running patterns and holding on to the ball. The NFL has few receivers now that can actually catch a ball. Trading Vick may not be an option due to money and the impact on the salary cap, but one thing for sure is Mora has most likely lost his job. Maybe the new coach will help straighten Vick out. Schaub is an insurance policy. It is getting time to trade him or play him.

I totally agree. Matt Shcaub is just sitting on the bench wasting his arm away. He is a great quarterback and would fit like a glove into the system in place. He would have 3 great recievers, all number one dreaft picks. The tight end Crumpler is always a main stay. With Schaub opening up the passing game, the run game will open up more. How can the run game open up more than with Vick? Because the running backs will be running the ball. Right now the defense is so intent on stopping Vick, that Dunn is also affected because the focus is on the run. I think the offense needs a drop back passer with a little bit of quickness.
You are right, the offense is always going to stall with Vick. The deep threat is not there. I think the recievers would work harder as well. Knowing when a pass is called, the quarterback is looking to throw. I would use Vick similar to Randle EL.

I wouldn't give up on him just yet.
Yes, his temper hit the extreme last week (I heard some latter reports saying he actually flikked off Saitns fans) but being dissed by the coaches daddy on national media, while also having the most worthless pieces of trash to play at wide receiver that drop more passes than they catch every week is probably wearing on him fast.
He is hitting the prime ages of his career. If they could get him a receiver like Calvin Johnson or Dwayne Jarrett, an upgraded #2 from free agency, and mix that with Crumpler and Dunn, I think you would see a vast improvement.
But he MUST not go off in another litle temper tantrum.
And if they do intend on doing something with Vick, start Matt Schuab soon to see what you got and get him in a groove for next season.

Michael Vick is one of the best quarterbacks you will ever see. He can scramble when in a bad situation and he has a laser arm. No other quarterback in the NFL period can do that. He runs like a halfback and can shake the whole defense. Now have you ever seen Schaub do that? I didn't think so. The other day wasn't Vick's fault, if you saw anything wrong it was the receivers pal. They couldn't catch a cold in Antarctica. Those fans he dissed dissed him first so why not diss them back.

Schaub has stayed because Vick is always one highlight film scramble away from missing significant playing time due to injury, like the time I drafted him and he broke his leg the next game. From an opponent standpoint, Vick has always scared me more with his feet than his arm. An amazing athlete, but that scattergun arm of his...
His receivers aren't helping either. Maybe the WR's should play defense since they're so good at knocking down passes.

i believe they ought to because i imagine Vick is a lot of those issues between better, he's not a quarterback, he's a operating decrease back with the arm of a quarterback, purely no longer the intelligence or accuracy. despite the indisputable fact that i don't think they're going to drop him because no count number how undesirable he's, he will continuously be an explosive and maximum critically marketable image. each and every youngster should be able to run like Vick, and many look over his poor ability as 1 / 4 decrease back to be sure that. And besides the actual undeniable actuality that he doesn't get them many wins through himself, human beings purchase tickets purely to computer screen him play and that brings in funds, so I doubt he receives decrease any time quickly

Never liked the guy. And being a Charger fan, I could not be more happy to have LT than Ron Mexico (Mike Vicks alter ego for those that don't know).
I think they should trade him for a new corner, since Deangelo Hall seems to be stinkin it up. Or make Vick into a back or receiver. He has amazing speed and elusiveness.

the falcons are sad. they were good when vick was hot but now they need to trade him. all he can do is run and that wont be enough to get them anywhere, schaub is better than vick and they would save a lot of money so maybe they can lower their ticket prices.

WTF are you guys talking about? What is Vicks winning %? I know it's above average for NFL starting QBs by far. Don't blame Atlanta's toubles on vick, the receivers are not getting open, it would look even uglier with another QB in there. Vick is a great QB, and a better passer than people give him credit for. Football is a team game..
Anyways, with his salary, there is not a team that would trade unless he agreed to restructure his contract, they can't afford to release him, so it is not an option.
