Will he be able to shed light onto our program as Izzo did for basketball, or will he follow in the typical footsteps of Williams and John L.?

He's got experience, good recruiting ties, discipline, and the right attitude for a Division I program. He can undoubtedly do the job; the question you need to ask though is will the politics at that school allow him the latitude that he needs to be successful.

MSU has got a good coach who will probably develop a good plan to help the Sparty's return to respectibility in the Big 10, as long as the Board and the Administration stay out of his way, which is asking a lot from East Lansing.

As long as MSU has to deal with Tweedledee and Tweedledumber, i.e. Joel Ferguson and George Perles, casting a pall over the program, no coach will be successful in East Lansing. Unfortunately, the idiots in the state of Michigan, particularly those straight Democratic ticket voters in Detroit, keep putting Ferguson on the Board of Trustees (for whatever reason, trustees to the boards at Michigan, MSU, and Wayne State are elected statewide) and no one seems to want to kick Perles's fat *** away from the feeding trough.

Until both are finally booted to the curb, the Spartans will continue to be woeful.

I am not a Spartans fan...but I will say this. His record at Cincy was not that great. I am not sure I see where he turned that program around. I guess I think there were better coaching prospects out there. Iowa State got Chizek from Texas.....he would have been a better fit. I will have to see to beleive. In my opion...no....not a good pick at all.
