She'll be doing tri's, but first we want to get her comfortable on a road bike. Unfortunately, she's out of the country, so I have to ballpark to begin with. She has an 80 cm inseam if that helps.

Thanks!

I have rockshock 'Pilot's' but not sure how to look after them. Do I just wash the chrome or do I also silicone spray them?

Need protection from the fumes, but also need to see where I'm going properly.
Will an anti fog spray work?

My bike has the same problem (front tyre) every month, it was a cheap bike, but the price seems to get higher every time I have to take the tyre for repair. It is a mountain bike, I use it to get to work every day, and sometimes use it at weekends. Which tyres would you recommend, any special brands that would be better than my current 'disposable' tyres?

I use SPD pedals on my road bike and uncertain about using them also on my mountain bike. I appreciate answers about pros and cons for using SPD pedals from (technically diffucult) off road mountain bikers.

I weigh 220 lbs. and I need a mountain bike that can support my weight going off of some low level jumps, landing on non-sloped surfaces. I don't want to spend more than 800 bucks, I need some advice. I have looked at Fezzari, but I can't find it on froogle, only costco carries them, which makes me question their reliability. I know Mongoose makes some really cheap bikes that are crappy quality but I am sure they make good ones too, I just don't know where they make the Transition. PLEASE, ANY HELP WANTED!!!

Has a race over 100km been won by a fraction of a second?
Has a race run over 2 weeks (eg Tour de France) been decided by a sprint finish on the last leg?

You get my drift here!!

I just bought an older bike that lacks the little holes that aftermarket brackets use to tighten down pannier racks. I don't want one of those seatpost pannier racks. Are there any other options??

I see almost everyone on the trails I ride (med to very difficult with LOTS of rocks) with bikes with full suspension, but I read that hardtails are the choice fro XC bikes. What are the tradeoffs?

In general, are off-road bike trails really single track? I am thinking of trying to ride off-road for a change. (But not in the real rugged terrains for real mountain biking). Just wanting to get off the usual paved trails I usually ride. My only concern is that if the off-road trails are mostly single-track, I might hold riders behind me being new and inexperienced off-road. I do have a pretty sturdy mountain bike, by the way, and it will be okay for off-road riding. And I have a resource book for bike trails in my vicinity so I can find and try different trails. Just wondering how other riders might feel if the one in front of them is slow and inexperienced.
