Unless you are the team leader, you are a domestique, a worker for the team leader. Each team consists of 9 riders.

The team has a leader. Everyone else is the domestique. Their job is to help the leader win. Some of the jobs are to bring water and food to the leader and other members, some may have a job to lead during a climbing stage, or some may try and lead the peleton hoping to get others to chase and causing them to burnout.

They are sometimes called drafting aides to help the time leader keep the lead. Most famous is George Hincape of Team Discovery because he was as fast Lance but was paid NOT TO WIN. He just took the headwinds so Lance could maintain the yellow jersey.

They are called team members and if I am correct there are 5-6 members to a team.
