Hi there -your choices will most likely be between a Hero and an Atlas-- as they are the two largest bike makers in INDIA, More important than the brand of bike you get , is getting one that fits you ,and ,that it is from a shop that you can return to for service and advice.

If you are going to be riding the bike off the road mainly, make sure that you have ample standover clearence (you should be able to stand over the bike and lift it at least 3-4 inches more if you will be riding over big obsatcles),
The next thing to do if possible, is to ride all of the bikes you are cconsidering, I wouldnt pay too much attention to the parts -as the frame is the heart of the bike- and you can replace the parts as you wear them out. If you can try the bikes in the same gear with similar tire pressure you should be able to tell which bike is more efficent-the one that accelarates quicker and matains speed easiest is the one I would buy. The lighest bike or the bike with the highest grade of parts, may not be the most efficent bike but the most efficent bike is the one that you will have more fun riding...good luck!

What's bangalore? a sports shop?

I would go first for some bike shops, usually, you will find better bikes at probably similar prices. You DON'T need a $5,000 titanium bike to have fun, but what you DO need is a reliable bike that's set up properly, and thats the correct size for you.

At bike shops they can suggest several bikes at your size, not try to fit you into a bike they have.
