The inventor of the game, Dr. James Naismith, started KU's program. KU hasn't missed the tourney since the early eighties, not counting the suspension year. KU has won more confrence titles, 51, than any other team in the nation. UCLA has won more national titles, 11, than any other team. Kentucky has the most wins of any team. Duke, North Carolina, and Indiana have also had impressive histories with multiple titles.

The Usa team is filled of mega star millionares and we should be the "best" in the world but always fall short. International rules of basketball are a little different than NBA rules. I think we should use some of the American players playing abroad who are stars in those leagues and know how to play the international game. I know this is the nba which is the "best of the best". but we have alot of players playing overseas who are very, very good. Thats just one of the solutions to fixing the problem. What other suggestions do you have out there?

Why do people insenuate that Shaquille O'Neal was the sole reason the Lakers won the Championship? Basketball is a team sport and it was obviously the triangle offense that won the Lakers dynasty those rings. It was Shaq AND Kobe, a combined effort, and neither were more responsible than the other, regardless of what either of them or you crazy fans might think.

Kobe Bryant is carrying the Lakers on his back right now, and has them in the playoffs, but it's obvious they won't win. What does that mean? It means one man can win games, but only teams can win championships. Shaq didn't win the Heat a Championship, either. Just like in LA, it was a combination of Shaq and a supreme gaurd in Dwayne Wade. It's disrespectful to Wade to say that the Heat won because of Shaq. So anyone who argues "look what's happened to Shaq as compared to Kobe" to prove that Shaq is a better player is obviously false. W/O Wade, Shaq isn't winning a title this year either.

What is your take and why?

ok, this assumes that you agree w/ the population of the world who has a brain and realizes that Jordan is better than Kobe. So Jordan is the standard. I'm trying to get an idea of how far Kobe has to go before he gets close to Jordan. Evaluate on being "the complete basketball player". not 50+ point games or something stupid like that.

I dont understand. There are 10 tall skinny guys who throw a ball in a basket. When they get the slightest tap on the arm or whatever, they complain and its against the rules. If they get slightly shoved, they fall to the ground and complain. Or they lie there because that tiny push hurt them soooo bad. I see it as a real pansy sport with no contact and a lot of whining. Everyone tries to get all pumped up with it but how can you with skinny lanky guys complaining about someone slapping them and then trying to act tough? Why don't people watch a real sport like hockey or football?
